We run a series of holiday activity sessions within our community hub to provide young people with a productive social environment.
Our staff are Artists and Youth Workers who are trained in leading activities for young people. They are not childcare professionals and this is not a childcare setting. As such all children must be able and willing to follow instructions and carry out all tasks requested by the staff.
Rules:
-Start Times: Session times are fully inclusive, you are expected to arrive at the start time - staff will not be able to supervise young people before this. If you arrive early, please stay with your young person and wait in the cafe area until the session is due to start.
-Age: Children must have already completed at least one full term of Primary school before joining our sessions. Our activities are group based and do not involve aspects of free play that pre-school children will have been used to.
-Social Awareness: All children must take part in all group activities and be able to clear up and follow instructions. This is to ensure that each activity is carried out safely for all children involved.
-Hygiene: All children must be toilet trained and able to follow personal hygiene routines unaccompanied. Our staff are trained in leading activities and cannot provide support with toilet or personal hygiene tasks.
-Aggression: We have a zero tolerance policy on aggressive and disruptive behaviours from participants. No child or staff member should be subject to aggressive or disruptive behaviour during our activities.
-Additional Needs: Our activity sessions are not ASN based and the structure of activities may not suit all children. While we are happy to accommodate reasonable adjustments following discussion ie, noise cancelling headphones for loud activities, we are unable to support higher needs children who are unable to follow rules and participate unaided ie, will not take part in, tidy up or do certain activities with the group.
-Staff Availability: Please note that staff will not be available during activity time slots to have discussions with parents as their attention will be on the activities and children. If you require to talk to an activity leader you are more than welcome to make an appointment after the daily sessions are complete.
